About
When you are repeatedly asked the same question, its sometimes necessary to have a different answer. After being asked how tall I was again and again, I decided to change tack from my imperial 6’5” and metric 1.96m and use a standard unit that I had grown up with, but has been around since the Egyptians – hands. Having different answers is how creativity can help solve problems.
For the last 25 years I have been offering different answers to a wide range of industries to support their brands and the bottom line; Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Minting, Software, Telecoms and Veterinary. I work collaboratively and can manage multi-disciplined teams producing products, events, internal comms, experiential, retail and marketing communications for diverse audiences in extremely competitive markets.
I am a natural leader and creative problem solver and thrive on complex and difficult briefs. I have a BSc Honours Degree from Brunel University in Industrial Design and a shared Queen’s Award for Innovation. I started out designing aircraft interiors and promoting space technologies to the design industry for the European Space Agency. At Imagination I was lead 3D designer for Ford of Europe’s Autoshow programme, and then Creative Director for WPP’s Fitch Live Events, working on Microsoft TechEd and winning the launch of Club World for British Airways.
I have also won new business for Bentley Motors live events, GM Europe’s World Premiere of the new Corsa and BP’s London 2012 Sponsorship launch as Creative Director in a pitching team. As Head of Design at The Royal Mint I built and managed the in-house team; winning the Queen’s 5th Portrait, launched the new Bullion portfolio and co-created The Royal Mint Experience as well as helping refresh a 1,000 year old brand.
Recently I was Head of Creative at PDSA, the UK’s largest veterinary charity supporting their annual £100m fundraising needs, celebrating their centenary and 75years of The Dickin Medal and also creating the UK’s first music festival that you could safely take your dog to.
I am Karl Elliott, and I am 19hands.
