The Royal Mint Experience

 

Brief:

Create all the content for the new Royal Mint Experience spanning a 1,000 year history, within a working factory, and a challenge for visitors to ‘leave never being able to look at a coin in the same way again’.

Solution:

The key dynamic to this unique facility was to enable visitors to securely go ‘airside’ at a working mint and view the 100m long striking hall where all UK circulating coins and International coins from over 60 different countries are struck.

Results:

The 1,900sqm facility has over 100,000 visitors a year scoring 4.5 on TripAdvisor enjoying a guided tour ‘airside’ as well as an exhibition, retail and cafe environment and an opportunity to strike your own coin.

The Royal Mint is over 1,000 years old and part of the challenge was how to edit the vast amount of stories and processes to fit inside 1,900sqm of purpose-built exhibition space.
